Here at 45 Middlesex Turnpike in Burlington, MA we restored a decrepit 200+ year old warehouse building that was operated by Metropolitan Furniture. New owners took over (Furniture Consignment Gallery) and they knew it was time to improve the outdated look. The warehouse was so old that it was even insulated with hay (really throwing it back to the old days!). We demolished the old storefront façade and built a new parapet wall, with a beautiful new storefront that is sure to catch the attention of commuter’s on the busy turnpike. The owners, at that point, had visions of opening up the inside of the store so that the layout would flow seamlessly, making it easier for potential buyers to try out furniture and make a decision. The interior work was quite extensive, requiring installation of a 3,800 lb., 40′ long steel beam in place of a 40′ concrete masonry wall we had to remove. It’s safe to say that it was well worth it!
